Why Choose Flushing Meadow House

General Information

Austin is regularly named the best city in America for Airbnbs, which is certainly not new information for those living here. The cities popularity ignited in the early 1990s when it was crowned the “Music Capital of the World.” Flash forward to the present, relocations and new businesses are driving demand to the already highly sought-after vacation destination. Between the excellent job opportunities coming from well-known companies like 3M, Dell, VRBO, Dell, and Facebook to innovative startups exhibiting great promise, Austin is a city that offers a different and substantially better take on work life balance.

DID YOU KNOW?

As they say, everything is bigger in Texas and that really means everything. The Texas State Capitol building is the second largest Capitol building in the country. The only one larger is the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC.

Austin CLIMATE

There is a misconception that Austin has a desert like climate. As far as weather is concerned, Austin has all four seasons, with a southern twist.

While the summers are hot and relatively long, there is humidity due to Austin’s subtropical climate. During the summer, temperatures will often reach 100 degrees, however, these high numbers are nothing to fear considering just about everywhere you go within Austin maintains air conditioning. The winters are mild and dry. In recent years, winter has been slightly colder than normal with the coolest periods spanning from late November until early January. August has an average high of 97F and January has an average high of 62 F.

Spring and fall offer mild temperatures and bright blue skies that hill country is known for. These seasons are also when the most festivals take place in and around the city and state. Light weight clothes are always a good idea, however, if you plan to go out in the evening, it is best to bring a jacket as temperatures tend to drop considerably rather quickly.
